CO2 emissions: Since 2021, CO2 emissions have been measured using a new test procedure (globally harmonised test procedure for light vehicles WLTP). Prior to this, the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) procedure was used. The WLTP is intended to better reflect real driving conditions, which is why WLTP values are systematically higher than NEDC values. This change led to a break in the time series. For 2021, the values for both test procedures are shown.
Target value 2020: According to the law on the reduction of CO2 emissions (LGBl. 2013 No. 358), CO2 emissions from new passenger cars are to be reduced to an average of 95 g/km by 2020.
